ATQ (Aide aux transexuels et transexuelles du Québec)

Offers a support group for trans people, among other services offering information and support. Crisis line: 855 909-9038 #1

 

Project 10 (Projet 10)

Promotes personal, social, sexual, and mental well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, Two-Spirit, intersexed, and questioning youth and adults aged 14-25. Offers a drop-in group, among other services.

 

Services for LGBTQ youth

 

CAEO (Canadian Association for Education and Outreach)

A volunteer organization which reflects the needs of the Québec English-speaking LGBTQ community. Operate the SILK (Sexual Information Leads to Knowledge) program, aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge of targeted groups, such as students and seniors with respect to sexual health, sexual and gender orientations, and diversity through free workshops (presently focusing on Anglophone high schools, as well as a few CEGEPs and universities).

PFLAG Quebec

A national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their non-heterosexual children.

Offers a support group for trans people, among other services offering information and support.

 

ASTT(E)Q Action Sante: Travesti(e) et Transsexuel(le) du Quebec

Promotes the health and well-being of trans people through peer counselling and accompaniment, advocacy, education and outreach, and community empowerment. Run by and for trans people with free and confidential services available in English and French.

 

Queer McGill

KA non-profit organization under the Student Societies of McGill University (SSMU). Offers a safe space and community for queer students. Support and programming, including discussions, workshops, lectures, and dance parties.

 

2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy

An independent, student-funded, Concordia University organization, mandated to promoting gender equality and empowerment particularly as it relates to marginalized communities. This mandate is achieved through on-going programming, campaigns, resources, services, and advocacy. Confidential peer-to-peer support.

 

Head and Hands (À deux mains)

Offer a number of medical, social, and legal services with an approach that is harm-reductive, holistic, and non-judgmental.

 

The LGBTQ Youth Centre

Provides a safe and welcoming environment for gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning teens to hang out, meet up, get to know each other, and understand themselves better as LGBTQ young people.

 

L’apparte

Part of community organization, Le Néo. Unique living environments for youth aged 12-17 in the image of a youth home, but specifically for LGBT people (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning) and their allies.

 

Projet Caméléon (IRIS-Estrie)

Offers prevention, health promotion, education and intervention programs for people with HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted or bloodborne infections.

Drop-in center (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night). Information and referral.

 

Jeunesse Idem

Program for youth aged 14-25 for youth who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual and questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity. Groups are only available in French. Located in Gatineau, QC.
